Infrastructure and Traffic Advisories
The City of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) remind residents of ongoing major rehabilitation projects affecting downtown travel. The I-90 Central Interchange project continues to impact traffic between East 9th Street and Carnegie Avenue. Travelers should expect various lane restrictions and traffic shifts as crews work on pavement replacement and bridge upgrades. Public safety remains the top priority during these significant upgrades to the city's transit corridors.
- I-77 Downtown Bridge Replacement: Work continues on the bridge decks over Woodland Avenue (U.S. 422), East 22nd Street, and East 14th Street. Ramp closures and lane restrictions remain in effect as part of the ongoing effort to modernize the downtown highway infrastructure.
- Wallings Road Closure: In Broadview Heights, Wallings Road remains closed between West Mill Road and Mill Road for bridge widening and replacement. This closure is scheduled to last through April 2026. Motorists are advised to utilize the Pleasant Valley Road detour via Brecksville or Broadview Roads.
- Ward 8 Pipeline Project: Enbridge Gas Ohio is currently replacing pipeline infrastructure on East 91st Street and East 92nd Street. Work is conducted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sidewalk restoration and final paving are expected to conclude this spring.
