A new location consolidates breast-health services on UH TriPoint’s campus

University Hospitals has opened the UH TriPoint Breast Center in Concord Township, bringing breast screening, diagnostic imaging and biopsy services together in a single, dedicated space on the TriPoint Medical Center campus. The facility is designed to streamline the patient pathway from initial screening through follow-up testing and coordination of care.

UH TriPoint Medical Center, a 144-bed community hospital that opened in 2009, serves Concord Township and surrounding communities in Lake County and the broader region. The new breast center represents an expansion of on-campus breast care options and is positioned as part of a larger effort to broaden specialty services available closer to where patients live.

What services are available now, and what is planned next

The breast center is equipped to provide a range of advanced breast imaging and interventional procedures. Available services include tomosynthesis (digital 3D mammography), dedicated breast ultrasound, and biopsy procedures including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy and stereotactic breast biopsy. The center also offers breast MRI, including a “Fast Breast MRI” option intended as supplemental screening for some patients, including those with dense breast tissue.

University Hospitals has also indicated that the breast center’s offerings are expected to grow in 2026 with the addition of contrast-enhanced mammography, an imaging approach that uses contrast to help identify cancers that may be harder to detect with standard mammography alone.

  • 3D mammography (tomosynthesis) for screening and diagnostic evaluation
  • Dedicated breast ultrasound imaging
  • Biopsy capabilities, including stereotactic and ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Breast MRI, including a faster supplemental MRI option in some cases

Patient experience and care coordination

Hospital leaders describe the center as an effort to make care more coordinated by unifying services that can otherwise require multiple appointments in different areas. The breast program includes access to a dedicated breast health care coordinator intended to help patients navigate scheduling, education and connections to needed services during screening and diagnostic workups.

The goal is to support coordinated, high-quality breast care that is easier to access locally while maintaining specialized imaging and diagnostic capabilities.

Broader oncology expansion underway at UH TriPoint

The breast center opening follows earlier announcements tied to broader oncology investment on the east side. University Hospitals has said it is investing $39 million to develop a regional cancer hub at UH TriPoint Medical Center, expected to open in fall 2026. Plans for that project include expanded medical and radiation oncology services, infusion, supportive care and pharmacy services, as well as broader access to clinical trials previously offered primarily at UH’s downtown Cleveland location.

For residents of Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties and nearby communities, the combined initiatives are intended to increase access to specialized cancer-related services without requiring travel to downtown Cleveland for every phase of care.
