Thunder’s record 3-point barrage overwhelms Cavaliers 136-104 as Cleveland’s home slide deepens Monday

A lopsided result at Rocket Arena
The Oklahoma City Thunder, the NBA’s top team by record, routed the Cleveland Cavaliers 136-104 on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at Rocket Arena. The loss was Cleveland’s most lopsided regular-season defeat in nearly two seasons and underscored how quickly the matchup tilted once Oklahoma City’s perimeter shooting caught fire.
Gilgeous-Alexander and Holmgren set the tone
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points and Chet Holmgren added 28 as Oklahoma City turned a competitive first half into a runaway after intermission. Luguentz Dort finished with 18 points, including five 3-pointers, while Isaiah Joe scored 16 and joined Holmgren with four 3s.
Three-point shooting decided the margin
Oklahoma City tied a season high with 23 made 3-pointers and shot 48.9% from long range. Cleveland, by contrast, went 8-for-35 from three (22.9%), one of its poorest outside-shooting performances of the season.
The Thunder’s separation became decisive late. After Cleveland briefly cut the deficit to 50-45 on a De’Andre Hunter 3-pointer, Oklahoma City closed the half on a 16-6 run to take a 66-51 lead into the break. In the fourth quarter, the Thunder went 10-for-13 from deep and punctuated the game with a 23-5 closing surge over the final 3:33, with seven of their final shots coming from beyond the arc.
Cleveland’s offense stalls, and home results lag last season
Donovan Mitchell led Cleveland with 19 points. Jaylon Tyson posted 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Jarrett Allen scored 16 in his 600th NBA game. Even with those contributions, Cleveland struggled to generate efficient scoring when Oklahoma City’s defense tightened and the Cavaliers’ perimeter attempts failed to fall.
The loss dropped Cleveland to 24-20 and extended a difficult run at Rocket Arena: the Cavaliers have lost eight of their last 14 home games and are 14-11 at home after going 34-7 last season.
Injuries on both sides as Thunder keep rolling
Oklahoma City improved to 36-8 despite entering the game short-handed. Jalen Williams is expected to miss a couple of weeks with a right hamstring strain, and during the game the Thunder saw Alex Caruso (right groin soreness) and Jaylin Williams (low back contusion) exit in the first half.
- Final score: Thunder 136, Cavaliers 104
- Thunder 3-point shooting: 23 made, 48.9%
- Cavaliers 3-point shooting: 8-for-35 (22.9%)
