Cleveland City Council Legislative Schedule

The Cleveland City Council has scheduled several key committee and floor meetings for Monday, March 2, 2026. All meetings will be held at Cleveland City Hall, located at 601 Lakeside Avenue, and will be broadcast live via the city’s official media channels. The schedule for the day is as follows:

  • Municipal Services and Properties Committee: 9:30 AM in the Mercedes Cotner Committee Room (Room 217). The agenda includes a presentation from the Mayor's Office of Capital Projects regarding the 2026 Capital Improvement Plan.
  • Council Committee Chairs Meeting: 12:00 PM in the Room 220 Large Conference Room.
  • Finance, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee: 2:00 PM in Room 217. This session will continue the review of the Mayor’s proposed 2026 General Fund budget.
  • City Council Regular Meeting: 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers. This is the primary weekly meeting for the passage of emergency ordinances and resolutions.

2026 Departmental Budget Hearings

The City of Cleveland continues its intensive nine-day review of the proposed $2.3 billion budget for the 2026 fiscal year. On Monday, March 2, the Department of Law will present its budget requirements to the Council. Discussions are expected to focus on increasing prosecutor staffing by five positions to address mounting code violations, particularly regarding out-of-town property owners. Additionally, Administrative Judges from the Cleveland Municipal Court and the Cleveland Housing Court are scheduled to present their respective funding needs for the upcoming cycle.

Traffic Advisory: Pipeline Infrastructure Replacement

Residents are advised that the Enbridge Gas Ohio pipeline infrastructure replacement project remains active in Ward 8. Work continues on East 91st Street (from St. Clair Avenue to 763 East 91st) and East 92nd Street (from St. Clair Avenue to Hillcock Avenue). A work zone is currently established to facilitate the replacement of old steel mainlines with new plastic piping. While two-way traffic is maintained with the assistance of control personnel, motorists should expect minor delays between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Access to driveways and local businesses will remain open during construction, which is slated for completion in April 2026.

Environmental Notice: Ozone Standard Comments

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is currently seeking public comment on a proposed determination that the Cleveland area has attained the 2015 Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard. This proposed rule may suspend certain state implementation plan requirements. The public comment period is active through March 30, 2026. Residents interested in reviewing the data or submitting formal feedback can do so through the federal regulatory portal.

Waste Collection Reminder

The City of Cleveland Division of Waste Collection and Disposal confirms that today, March 2, is a regularly scheduled collection day. To ensure service, residents must place their waste and recycling carts at the curb no later than 6:00 AM. All materials must be contained within the official city-issued carts with the lids fully closed. Missed pickups should be reported via 311 after 4:30 PM.
