Jaja in Cleveland’s Ohio City to Reopen February 3 After Crash Closure and Full Menu Reset

A long-closed Ohio City dining room returns to service
Jaja, the rooftop restaurant in the INTRO development in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood, is scheduled to reopen to the public on Tuesday, February 3, after a roughly 15-month closure tied to building damage from a vehicle crash in late 2024. The restaurant operates above Pioneer, within INTRO at 2050 Gehring Ave., near the West Side Market.
The closure began after a crash in the early morning hours of Oct. 31, 2024, when a vehicle struck the building near the main entrance area. No serious injuries to the driver were reported at the time, but the damage forced Jaja and Pioneer to suspend operations while repairs moved forward.
Repairs, rebuilding and reopening logistics
Public filings associated with the repair work described structural and site elements requiring demolition and reconstruction, with restoration intended to return affected portions of INTRO to their original design. The same impact that halted restaurant operations also affected building-adjacent infrastructure such as exterior protective features and sidewalk elements.
Jaja’s published operating schedule lists dinner service Tuesday through Saturday, plus Sunday brunch and Sunday dinner. The restaurant’s location information places it across from the West Side Market and near the RTA station, with valet and street parking listed among access options.
A restaurant relaunch centered on a new kitchen and new menu
The reopening is framed as more than a return to prior operations. Leadership has described a reset that includes a reworked kitchen line and an entirely new menu, with no carryover dishes from the restaurant’s earlier iteration. The culinary direction is presented as “Med-West,” combining Western Mediterranean influences with additional global elements.
Changes also extend to the dining room presentation. In the reopening plan, the upper-level space is described as less maximalist than before, with decorative elements reduced to create a more restrained room while maintaining the dramatic setting that made the restaurant a destination within INTRO.
How Jaja fits into INTRO’s broader food-and-beverage footprint
Jaja is part of a cluster of hospitality concepts at INTRO, a nine-story mixed-use complex completed in 2022 with apartments, retail space and event space. Nearby concepts within the development have included Pioneer and Edda Coffee, reinforcing the site as an all-day food-and-drink hub in one of Cleveland’s most active dining corridors.
Reopening date: Tuesday, February 3
Location: INTRO, 2050 Gehring Ave., Ohio City
What’s changing: a rebuilt kitchen setup, a fully new menu, and a pared-back dining room aesthetic
Jaja’s reopening marks a post-repair relaunch rather than a simple restart, with operations returning after months of construction work and a concept-level refresh.
