Winter Wonders and Artistic Transitions: Sunday in Cleveland

Welcome to your Sunday guide for February 1, 2026. As the city settles into the heart of winter, today offers a unique blend of seasonal festivities and significant milestones at our world-class cultural institutions. Whether you are looking for outdoor spectacle or indoor inspiration, Cleveland has a full slate of activities to keep you engaged through the evening.

The Grand Finale of the Crocker Park Ice Festival

Today marks the final opportunity to experience the 2026 Crocker Park Ice Festival in Westlake. This three-day winter celebration concludes this afternoon with a variety of family-friendly attractions. Visitors can view 16 custom ice sculptures displayed throughout the property, with live ice sculpting demonstrations scheduled for 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. For those looking for a bite to eat, local food trucks including Dilly Dilly Donuts, Papa Sal's Kitchen, and Cousins Main Lobster will be on-site from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Children can also enjoy the indoor sock slide and the Crocker Park Express Train, both operating through the late afternoon.

Artistic Changing of the Guard at University Circle

The Cleveland Museum of Art is a primary destination for art lovers today, as it hosts both an ending and a beginning. It is the final day to view the special exhibition "Renaissance to Runway: The Enduring Italian Houses," which explores the deep historical roots of modern Italian fashion in the Special Exhibition Hall. Simultaneously, the museum debuts its newest exhibition, "still/emerging: Native American Works on Paper." This collection features roughly 30 works created from the 1950s through today, highlighting the unique histories and perspectives of Indigenous artists. The museum is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and as always, general admission is free.

Theater and Sunday Matinees

Playhouse Square continues its Children’s Theater Series today with a special sensory-friendly performance of "Billy Goats Gruff & Other Tales." The show takes place at the Mimi Ohio Theatre starting at 11:30 AM, offering an inclusive environment for young families. For those interested in community theater, the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre presents "Shakespeare In Hollywood" at 2:00 PM, providing a comedic escape for a Sunday afternoon.

Local Flavors and Evening Entertainment

  • West Side Market: The historic market in Ohio City is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is the perfect time to visit local vendors for fresh meats, cheeses, and baked goods.
  • Evening Comedy: Close out the weekend at Hilarities 4th Street Theatre. Katie Hannigan performs at 7:00 PM at the Frolic Cabaret, followed by Lil Mo Mozzarella at 7:30 PM.
