Public Notice: 2026–2030 Five-Year Consolidated Plan Hearings

The City of Cleveland Department of Community Development has issued a formal notice regarding the development of the City’s Five-Year Consolidated Plan. This plan will govern the allocation and use of federal funds from 2026 through 2030, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships. Residents are invited to attend upcoming Needs Assessment Workshops to provide input on housing, homelessness, and neighborhood priorities. The first in-person sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, at the Fatima Family Center and Thursday, February 19, at the May Dugan Center. Both sessions will run from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Accommodations for persons with disabilities or limited English proficiency are available upon request through the Department of Community Development.

Traffic Advisory: Pipeline Infrastructure Project in Ward 8

The City of Cleveland, in coordination with Enbridge Gas Ohio, announces the commencement of a pipeline infrastructure replacement project (PIR 3927) starting tomorrow, Monday, February 16, 2026. Work will be concentrated in Ward 8 on East 91st Street (east side from St. Clair Avenue to 763 East 91st Street) and East 92nd Street (west side from St. Clair Avenue to Hillcock Avenue). The project involves replacing existing steel mainlines with new plastic piping. A temporary work zone will be established between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily. While two-way traffic will be maintained via traffic control personnel, motorists are urged to use caution. Access to residential driveways and local businesses will remain open throughout the duration of the project, which is slated for completion in April 2026.

Public Health Advisory: Seasonal Influenza Surge

The Cleveland Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health have issued an advisory regarding a significant increase in seasonal influenza activity across the region. Surveillance data indicate a spike in emergency department visits for flu-like illnesses, with a particular impact on pediatric populations and residents over the age of 65. Health officials remind citizens that the peak of the respiratory virus season typically extends through February. The public is encouraged to practice frequent handwashing and stay home if experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or body aches to prevent further community spread.

Standing Winter Service Reminders

As winter conditions persist, the Department of Public Service reminds property owners of their legal obligations under Cleveland City Ordinance (CCO) 507.13. All residents and business owners are required to clear snow and ice from public sidewalks adjacent to their property by 9:00 a.m. following any snowfall. Additionally, residents are reminded to monitor local media for potential Snow Emergency Parking Bans. When a ban is declared, parking is prohibited on all streets marked with red and white signs to ensure that city plows and emergency vehicles can navigate residential and primary corridors efficiently.
